The Dukes of Durham
Seven Springs to Goldsboro in Pictures

Before starting out, Philip and the support group took a quick look around the visitor's center at Cliffs on the Neuse State Park to check out the exhibits.
Luckily, this was the only bear Philip met while in the park.
The Neuse river winds its way through path Philip is taking from New Bern to Durham and he has crossed it more than a few times and will cross it again before the walk is over.
Walking through eastern North Carolina that day was very beautiful. The views also included part of a local air show. Having incredibly technologically advanced aircraft zooming through the air around Philip, created a stark contrast between the experiences of walking through the landscape of the past and that of the present.
When Philip arrived at the Goldsboro Bridge Battlefield, he found himself at another Federal check point. The members of the Goldsboro Bridge Battlefield Association took Philip out for dinner and offered him a bed in a beautifully restored barn on the property.
