Today was a pretty simple day. We began with a breakfast at the G.I. Joe Museum in downtown Kinston. This is a wonderful facility that all who are reading this should visit. It is a museum created by veterans, a place where they can tell their story in their own way. I had the chance to speak with a number of the veterans about their experiences in the service.

Afterwards we had a big send off for myself and Andrew Duppstadt who walked halfway with me today (probably a little over halfway). I covered between 18 & 20 miles today with my feet and legs in fairly good shape. I arrived in Cliffs of the Neuse State Park. Now we are in a camp site having had a meal cooked over a fire.

Bed-time is coming soon and I’m looking forward to the rest and tomorrow’s trek to Goldsborough. Additionally, today is my sister’s birthday! Wish I were with her but wish her all the best.
